Rules and Regulations of the Studio:

1. Cover-ups (These can be t-shirts worn over leotards) must be worn by all students when coming to and leaving the facility. We expect even our tiniest students to learn proper dance etiquette from the beginning.

2. Dance shoes are never to be worn outside!

3. Hair must be worn up and off the neck for all classes. Bangs must not fall into eyes and cause a distraction. Buns are the best way to keep hair out of face and secure while students are working on turns.

4. Students must adhere to the dress code. No jewelry except for small stud earrings.

5. Students must not be late. The first 10 minutes provides essential warm-up exercises.

6. Younger students should be taken to the bathroom before class. It’s true what they say… When one has to go, they all want to go! This distraction can take quite a bit out of precious class time!

7. Students should be reminded to respect the property of the facility and other peoples. Students should never go through another dancer’s dance bag, take, or try on anything that does not belong to them. We ask that all students label shoes, leotards, tights, bags, and especially costumes! Do not bring valuables to class!

8.  Parents please remember that Promise Ministries is a church.  There are other classes and groups that meet when we are having classes.  Students and Parents should not be in the hallways unless using the rest rooms or taking a student to and from classes.  PLEASE NO RUNNING!!!  We ask that you watch your students and their siblings at all times.  We do not want anyone getting hurt or any accidents to happen.  Please respect the gift that Promise gives us in use of their building.

9. Please clean up after yourself. We do not want any unwanted guests crawling around! EEEEEEEEK!

10. Students are encouraged to pay attention to the teacher and try not to focus attention on those in the area not participating. Any persons observing class must do so without taking or distracting the class in session.

11. We ask that parents who wait for their student to closely supervise any siblings brought to the facility. Please refrain form taking flash photography while students are practicing. This is a distraction that can easily cause injury.

12. Last but not least, students should learn that a correction from your teacher should be regarded as highly as a compliment or praise. Corrections are good and are the only way we can improve. Some corrections need to be given over and over and over and sometimes for years to build proper posture and strength for dance. Gentle corrections even at a very young age are mixed with lots of praise to build a solid foundation.
